yes I enjoy the videos too it's great coloraturafan is so creative for the sake of all of us BUT I wouldn't go that far to say these are the best casts - no way! May I guess she's using this old footages to avoid copyright problems? All the same - great idea!!!

Every singer in a Bellini opera is a world-class soloist.

This is, I think, Swenson's finest role. She just sings it SO well...the trills, the acuti, the pearly coloratura, it's ALL there. Lovely.

Ruth Ann Swenson does it well in this production. She uses some refreshing new coloratura in her (first) aria. Still she keeps that nice girlish sound and solid metallic topnote's.
