The visit of Cemil's childhood friend to his residence in an exclusive section of Istanbul serves to remind him of the ideals he had as a youth and has now thoroughly betrayed. The friend has never played anyone false, and his uprightness is fascinating to Cemil's wife and sister-in-law, also serving as a catalyst for reforming an angry neighborhood youth. The wife is torn between the two men's lifestyles, though there is no hint of unfaithfulness.
