Hi friends, Here's a shootout of 6 Vintage National guitars.
There are 3 steel bodies and 3 brass bodies, all from the 1930's. I'd be interested to hear your comments on what differences you find. Visit our Pickin Parlor at www. VintageNationals.com and you can see many more cool videos, old photos, and lots of great info on the history of National guitars. Also see a great inventory of new and used Nationals and other cool guitars.
Enjoy! Len

  • Ha, both. I"m left handed, play right, wear the watch on the right. Very perceptive!

    cheers, Lenny

  • Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed it. Look for more to come. Cheers, Lenny

  • Specifically can you tell me what was the third guitar (brand, style, model etc). That was my favorite sound of this round. EXCELLENT video please keep these coming. These comparisons are so useful. Do you have one on wood vs steel?

  • I just got a 31 triolian..in florida.. put a new national cone in it _really helped the sound,,, the front doll rod was loose I took it out and it made it way deeper and louder, the neck is real straight and it plays great

  • Hey Lenny you may remember me - I had the 39 12 string brass bodied style-o I prefer the sound of brass bathed in that german nikel.

  • got your watch on the right side or left-handed?

  • the 1fst brass body is the sweetest no doubt, and the prettiest to watch at :)

  • Much prefered sound from the steel.

The brass was just too empty can sounding.

  • The steel body guitars definitely had the best sound by far.

The brass body guitars seemed to lack the richness of the steel body sound.

  • hi lenny

thanks for this....; still cqn make my mind up lol

  • excellent playing by the way and you are a lucky man with these guitars.
