Maranatha High School's football players and coaches were more than a little surprised when Kurt Warner, NFL and Superbowl MVP, took time out of his busy schedule to chat with them Tuesday afternoon.

During their afternoon practice, Maranatha's players were directed to assemble in anticipation of a guest who wanted to speak with them. The surprised looks on their faces could not be masked as Kurt Warner approached! While on location for filming, Warner took the opportunity to encourage and challenge the young football players in their lives and careers. He spoke about committing themselves to excellence in everything they do, whether it's in the classroom, on the football field, or one day as husbands and fathers. He counseled them to never give up on their dreams, even if they are stocking shelves at a grocery store (referring to a job he held when first pursuing his NFL dreams).

A devout Christian, a loving husband and father, Warner also shared that the number one relationship in his life is with the Lord Jesus Christ.
