He was intially born in Los Angeles California, his mother is from essex in england and his father from california, he moved to england when he was three years old and brought up in england. So therefore he is american. I'd say he's more british, being born somewhere doesn't naturally define you but I guess thats what his birth certificate would say. American. Although he has both British & American Citezenship.
