www.sierranevada.edu Sierra Nevada College at Lake Tahoe has made a commitment to provide full scholarships for up to 100 qualified students who have had their education and day to day life put on hold as a result of the devastating earthquake that reduced over 11,000 buildings in the ancient Italian city of L'Aquila in the region of Abruzzo to rubble. L'Aquila University was home to 27,000 students. Dozens of those students lost their lives while the quake left only two University buildings standing. Sierra Nevada College first joined with the National Italian American Foundation to raise over $500,000 which provided full 1 years scholarships to 24 students to continue their education and rebuild their lives. This video features the RAI produced documentary, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and news coverage of students of L'Aquila at Sierra Nevada College.
