In AD 922, Arab courtier Ahmad Ibn Fadlan accompanies a party of Vikings to the barbaric North. Ibn Fadlan is appalled by the Vikings customs-- their wanton sexuality, their disregard for cleanliness, their cold-blooded human sacrifices. And then he learns the horrifying truth: he has been enlisted to combat a terror that slaughters the Vikings and devours their flesh.

@Athiestnova - lol, remember this was set in an age before google and mythbusters and widespread literacy, where most information arrived through word of mouth and personal experience. The idea of 'bear-daemons' would have seemed a lot more likely when all you've seen and heard are horror stories and furry shapes in the mist. Like how a column of torch-bearing cavalry can be mistaken for a 'fire-wyrm' when seen from a distance. This film was pretty cool for showing how myths can arise.
