Despite his termination, Supt Jenkins called a meeting April 6 with all board members present. The subject was to approve teacher and staff contract recommendations. Those did pass 4-1 after Executive Session (segment 3), with Smith voting no. Cook chaired the meeting. The agenda and initial motion to go into Exec Session failed to gain a majority vote. Smith and Mock questioned why they had not received any information previously on which to base their vote. Smith asked to read a statement asking Cook either to peaceably turn over chairmanship of the board to Mock, in the spirit of Martin Luther King, or to resign, and there was some argument. Mock states that he's here for the kids, not controversy. Cook says that you've got a surprise coming later this week.
