The time the teaser for a new Afterschool song came out I had to check it. The moment I've heard that beautiful uplifting emotional voice, I was sure this is going to be remixed into an uplifting trancer. After downloading the source files for the teaser, I closed everything: FLStudio, Vegas, Skype, Messenger even Chrome. I gave the song's teaser a couple of listens and then I went out for a smoke. While I was watching the sky, I kept the vocals singing in my head again and again using my thought. Then magically you start hearing new sounds blending in. That trance lead, the gated pad, the bass - they were all there in my mind playing loud at some grand party in central Europe.
I went up my room, turned on FLStudio and threw the girls in. Then I simply copied that snapshot from my memory onto my instruments and so I did make my own teaser. The teaser received excellent comments from you guys, so I was very excited about this remix.
I was suspecting the mood of the song, since the drums are the main part of it. So I could already imagine in my head a very strong trance beat in the Dumonde/Cosmic Gate style from the early 2000 (check Ayumi Hamasaki - Trauma (Dumonde remix).
Then the full version came out. As most people, I was disappointed to find out that the beautiful voice was just a small part of the song and the rest of it was full of very girlish chearliding pop/RnB screams. When the MV came out as well, it kind of connected that average song with the sexy and cute girls and so everything felt much better.
I've started re-creating the melodies and adding sounds like leads, pads and such. The magic has started. Everything sounds quite nice but something was missing: The drums! I picked up my favourite snare sound and I emphasized it, then started creating various rhythms with it. Suddenly the song got incredibly stronger. I couldn't even sit in my chair anymore. The moment I hit play, some magical force was raising me up to dance! This is exactly what I wanted to achieve with this remix!
The technical complexity of the remix is beyond anything I've made before. Just for a comparison, it has double the channels, instruments and the effects than T-ara - Like the first time. Although it took me one and a half day to make this, I've spent about 30 hours (most non-stop, except a short sleep) to finish it, which is much higher than the average time I spend for each remix and this time most of it wasn't hyping but pure work. In fact I haven't even eaten anything yet (except from the nessecery black coffee) since I've started this remix yesterday. This is because I didn't want to lose the feeling of the remix (I live in UK so eating means cooking and cooking means it takes time). That said, no worries because my Kimchi Jjigae is boiling downstairs as I'm writing this :)

hey, I read the description and in particular your disappointment with the fact that the full BANG track has 'girlish cheerleading pop/RnB screams'. Try Rex Rowdee's(I hope I spelled that right) Blue Remix of this song. He pretty much redid the entire song using just that bit. Hope it is ok to post this.
