RCGroups SeaBB 2nd maiden flight. 56" Wingspan version. First maiden was a bit rocky as there was a leak and water got into the fuse. A coat of liquid sheeting from wowplanes.com sealed up the fuse nicely and the folks at Royal Highlands RC boat club invited me to fly off the water where they run their boats. It was a beautiful morning, no wind to speak of and made for a fine day of boating and flying.
The sea plane has a 56" wingspan and is powered by a BP 2217-9 brushless motor and an 11x4.7" prop with a 40A ESC.
The plane is built entirely of foam and covered with liquid sheeting from wowplanes.com
The builder and pilot is Larry Fortna aka Flash and the plans for a smaller version is available online at rcgroups.com.
This version was scaled up in Google Sketchup and then cut on a CNC machine made for cutting foam. The monoblock for the fuse was cut with a scroll saw and sanded into shape.
