@Gr1zz3m If you haven't read "Evil and Omnipotence" by Mackie, you should. You can find the .pdf on Google pretty easily, and it's a short read.

Oh, and I meant to mention that the Bible speaks against people who believe that good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people. Like I said, read Job.

Suffering is an interesting concept that has countless explanations, none of which really do it justice. In the light of this video and Christianity, there's actually a really strange response to suffering of the innocent in the Bible. If anyone's interested, read the book of Job. It doesn't exactly provide what I would consider pragmatic insight towards suffering, but God's response to Job's righteous bitching at Him about his suffering is interesting nonetheless.
