  • This... this is incredible!! 8D

  • I'm a half ass fiddler in South Carolina and always looking around for something more interesting than crying in the beer country music. I like the old time music and some Irish but this is phenomenal. I have played it a hundred times over trying to get the particular noting between the phrases. I will learn this piece even though I'venot a clue as to what it is, except awesome.

Do these two fellows have any other videos (or names, everyone has a name ) that can be accessed over the net.

  • hi, is it possible to obtain a black (color) nyckelharpa ? ? ?

The first tune is a bridal march from (the region of) Jämtland. It is quite common, search for "Jämtländsk brudmarsch" or "Jämtlandssången". This was traditionally played on the wedding day when the bride would walk in a procession with friends, family and musicians from her home to a place where they would meet the grooms' procession. There the two processions would join up and proceed together to the church, where the couple to be wed would stride down the isle together.

This is swedish folk. I'm sorry to say that I can't tell you the name of the songs although they are wery common . I don't think there's anymore by this group on the net.

  • Yet another awesome nyckelharpa-centered video I can add to my faves

  • I stumbled across Hedningarna's album "Kaksi" in a used-music store in Chicago a while ago; not quite the same style, but worth a listen.

  • the other faster song is Slängpolska after Byss-Calle
