Samsung Captivate - Running Sirius XM Radio

My phone is now running the blocked sirius xm application on my AT&T samsung captivate phone.

The Sirius XM app is not found in the market, goto sirius.com and request the android app download. they will email you the file, but you will not be able to install it unless you root your phone.

After rooting your phone you have to command line the file

adb install siriusxm.apk

and it will install and show up in your applications section of the phone. the initial sirius xm run will take about 2 minutes the first time and then it loads pretty quick.

alright man...i just rooted my phone and seen this video....so i go the email from sirius and everything....but how do i command line it in the phone???

@lerma2891 i cover how to install applications in another video i did, to install programs outside of the android market its called "sideloading" which allows you to install applications from your computer to your phone!

So I see you used the command line. So why not change the db settings in sql lite and change the permissions and you dont need command anymore. Thats what I did. No more need to plug into the pc.

@NerdGenius yeah, i covered the method in another video later in the day i found that out. Its a little more difficult for the basic users, and they need to root i believe to access the db. correct me if i am wrong, i did the db changes after i rooted and i believe superuser popped up during.

Hey you look like you might reply to me unlike these other youtubers , i was watching a video on here and saw that on someones captivate it looked like there was a theme ? diffrent buttons and no dots at the top ? will you show how to do that if you know ? thanks

ok dude i need help i cant get my att captivate to reboot, I am wanting to root it for the same reason you did, DAMN I WANT MY XM lol man i need help i have got all the way to the point to hold the volume up and down button and pushing power, and all it dose is cycle the att start up screen, man some on please help me, here is my number to call 601- 832- 2845 if any one can help me figure this crap out it would be much obliged. thanks

Did you go into the app settings and tell it to ok downloads from non android apps? you shouldnt have to root to do that

@johnnyzappone yea you do have to root to be able to access the cp folder and db settings.

Do you have to be subscribed to Sirius XM for them to email you the file?
