yup, 56 + (2x14) to get the total age of both father and son after 14 years, then divide by 3 to get the son's age and then multiply by 2 to get the father's age.

14yrs later for both is X2! 14(2)=28 (total extra age of both in 14yrs time)

56+28=84 (in 14yrs time their total age)

father's age is twice the son's so simple instinct 84 divide 3 is 28!

"Now" the son's is 28yrs and dad's twice of son's age hence 28X2=56yrs

if still in doubt -14 from each age 28-14=14, 56-14=42 and total age's 56yrs
