I don't know why. I used tabs to start off with and they really helped me to learn things by ear. I heard how the tab sounded when played, then used those sounds to make my own breaks.
Now I've played on TV 3 times! Thank God for the man who invented tabs!

"im use to tabs" you're better off learning simpler songs by ear than relying only on tabs.

HA! You caught me - I always make that mistake. My way of avoiding copyright restrictions I guess. THANKS for the pointer to Hangman -- I forgot about that one. Sounds pretty simple -- no promises now, but if I work it out I'll post it..

I've been thinking about buying a banjo.
I heard my uncle has one that he bought on a whim and doesn't use anymore, I might steal that one. I'm really the only musical person in my family anyway.

Ask him for it. Or better, get him to teach you. The lessons are worth more than the banjo.
