The Golden Spike Chapter of the Railway and Locomotive Historical Society installed a water tower at the station in order to service the 844 and 3985 whenever they came to town. Today 844 gets a big drink.
I am glad Union Station did not throw the water spout out they may have steams in the yard but #844 drank from that spout everyday when she lived here.
@geomodelrailroader Actually that water spout came from Hill Air Force Base early 2000 and was installed by the Golden Spike Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Society. All sources of steam water had long since disappeared after steam was replaced by Diesel.
