The Outsiders: Chapters 3-4 (School Edit)

For my Literature teacher, Mrs. Devine, we had to do a project based on the book The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. We were given a list of ideas to represent the book so me and my friends chose to do a video and reenact events from the story. This short film consists of events from chapter 3 and 4 of The Outsiders. There were a few mistakes and sound effects that weren't synced up with the video but it was still decent. I had fun working with my friends and we received an A on the project. Remember that this was a school edit, so I will definitely reedit this and write more songs for the score.

Issues w/ this edit:
1) The house used in scene 1 and 3 looks more like a Soc's house. It was depicted as a Greaser's house in the movie.

2) The outfits worn by the Socs are what clothes that Greasers would actually wear. Socs have that "preppy" look to themselves and I had everyone wear the same costume. So, the audience couldn't really tell who were Greasers and who were Socs.

3) The particular groups of Socs in the book drove a blue mustang. We used a BMW 323Ci that was black.

4) Two cast members played Ponyboy (meeting problems).

5) I only composed 2 songs for the score. So I had to use other music.

6) Some shots were very dark when edited and did not match others.

7) Some cast members with supporting roles also played as cameos.

-I used Sony Vegas Pro 10. Since there were 3 scenes, I edited each scene & bloopers individually and then combined them into one final cut.

awesome! I just finished reading the outsiders nice vid! And when you say Soda never smokes...he does....in the last chapter he sits on ponyboy's bed and smokes.
