John Wayne was a "mainstream" Republican, and he would have approved of George W. Bush!!!! After Ronald Reagan was attacked SO VOCERFOUSLY when he took the screen Actor's Guild out on strike in 1960, Duke called up Nancy EVERY day because he KNEW she would be upset, and told her "not to let those bastards get you down!!!!!!"

As a Canadian,I believe Mr Wayne represented everything about America I admired for many years.True Grit.His passing truly saddened me.For America's sake,and the world's, I hope to see his kind once more.May
