Remember those Metalder toys I reviewed at the end of last year? The ones that were from Metalder's expansive, and cheap, Ghost Bank Series? Well, the following series also had a series of tiny, super cheap figures! Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya has the Ninja Taisen Series!

The Ninja Taisen Series (忍者大戦シリーズ) isn't as expansive (or cool) as the Ghost Bank Series (ゴーストバンクシリーズ), but it did have a great variety of characters for a very low price. Today i'll be reviewing the first in the series (and the only figure I have from it). This is my review of Ninja Taisen Series 1 Jiraiya!

For starters, the figure has the expected points of articulation. Head, arms, legs, and knees can be moved much in the same way the Metalder figures did. Jiraiya comes with some accessories. He is equiped with the Jikko Shinkuken (磁光真空剣) sword and the Jiraibuster (ジライバスター) gun. There is also a small sticker sheet included.

Now on to the bad... The paint application is very lacking compared to the Ghost Bank Series. The otherwise decent details go to the wayside thanks to some sloppy painting. For some reason, it is also pretty difficult to find a decent pose for Jiraiya. I also imagine not many people still have the weapons from their toys. Not only are they incredibly tiny, but the fact that they're unpainted would make them even harder to find if they were dropped on carpetting or other similar bland surfaces.

I am happy to see this series, however. It is nice that Bandai continued it's line of cheap, tiny figures from Metalder given the expansive cast of both series. The Metalder Ghost Bank Series is more common than the Ninja Taisen Series. You'd be hard pressed to *ever* complete a set of Jiraiya figures, when the Metalder set would only take a couple of years, maybe.

In any case, I hope you enjoyed this review of this pretty rare figure.
