He's not as arrogant as I thought if he parodies himself.. It actually takes some good heart to be able to take the piss out of yourself

Well, he may care more about the explosions than the plot, but at least he has the good humor to recognize how ridiculously over-the-top his movies are and parody himself for it. This commercial has gained me new respect for the man.

At the very worst, at least he can do SOMETHING exceptionally well.

Besides, the opposite can also apply. Too much story can bore the hell out of people if taken too far.
