@BootyBot ...actually, while I agree that this is obviously a chest/tri exercise, there is a lot of point in doing some form of chest/tri you climb. Mantels require this - try bouldering at Font or Castle Hill without it. Locking down to reach a long way requires tri. Gastons that are a long way to the side require tri. Also just balancing out the body generally means one can avoid the climber hunch and avoid injury as the groups used frequently for climbing are better supported.

No core there... & he isn't even going all the way with the push-ups.

weak-sauce core strengthening excercise? IMO... thats an understatement - don't really see that as a core excercise at all.

While I agree that this is not a core exercise, it's a chest and tris exercise, the core is still being worked isometrically. Also, the idea that climbers shouldn't train their chest and tris is flat out wrong. Ask anyone who knows anything about training for any sport: muscle imbalances can and often do lead to injury. If want to strengthen your back, you need to strengthen your chest with it. Push ups are a great exercise and pushing exercises should be incorporated into a climbers training.

@mistawu66 i use it for jacking off faster

Look at me! I'm a prick!

@mistawu66 no this a chest workout and utilizes the triceps as a secondary muscle. Its also a workout that makes you more explosive and uses pushing muscles instead of pulling muscles. who the fuck cares if fighters use it for explosive punching? when do you ever punch when youre climbing???
and why the fuck would you want to do workout that works pushing muscles when 99.9% of the time you are PULLING when you are climbing?? you are the ultimate form of stupid.

pliometric chest exersisa it dont work for climb!!!

@tbwilsonky i didn't mean 'sorta'
the phrase "weak-sauce" he's not making a frigging vindaloo is he?!
this is a weak-sauce core training exercise. if you want to get strong in the middle don't waste your time with this.

well he certainly isn't super strong. castle pushups are sorta hard for the unconditioned, but AGAIN these are weak-sauce exercises for developing core-strength for climbing. try front levers for instance.
