I'm incubating an egg atm, and it's the same stage as this. It's incredible how it goes from just an egg to a little tiny chicken in just a few days!! x

I just lost two hens who laid two precious eggs in their final moments of life...and bought one of those tabletop model incubators to give their babies a chance. So far, so good the past 24 hours. I'm following instructions to the letter because these babies are so important to me...please keep your fingers crossed for them guys.

I had 2 chicken eggs in the incubator and they were both developing and it is now day 8 but one of the eggs dropped and broke. The other egg is still ok and developing but its just so sad cuz the worse part is in the egg that broke there were veins and the now dead floating embryo. It feels like loosing a child. That's how sad I feel. Please reply. Thanks.

I know how you feel. It happened to me as well. You could even see the heart of the embryo beating for some time..
Anyways, there is nothing you can do about it. Just make sure you are careful handling the eggs in the future. Shit happens, but the chick didn't feel anything, so don't feel too bad. When the other egg hatches properly, you'll be all happy again. Trust me.

I'm not sure actually. But who will take care of the chick when it hatches? Only do this when you are sure you can handle the chick (and bird when it gets older)
