Dec 2003 Under the Taliban, Afghan women risked everything to be beautiful. Now the US fashion industry is helping them open their own beauty parlours and achieve financial independence.
Sima Calkin has not seen her home country of Afghanistan for 23 years. Now she is returning to advise local women about running their own beauty salons. It's all thanks to a new scheme aimed at restoring dignity and self respect to the women of Afghanistan. But the war ravaged country she flies into bears no resemblance to the lush paradise of her childhood. "I am in shock ... it's mind boggling to see what has happened," she despairs. She is also racked by guilt for having abandoned her country in its hour of need. By teaching the women to become beauticians, she hopes she can make amends. And there are plenty of women desperate to be taught these valuable new skills. Beauticians in Kabul earn much more than doctors or labourers. In a country where 60% of women are widows and many are the main breadwinners, working as beauticians offers a real opportunity to improve their lives.

wow..can the Afghan man control himself? Remember...when a man loses control over a woman..its the woman's fault. That's why taliban put burkas over women. Being taliban is like never having to grow up! LOL! Go Afghan Women! At least you can join the modern world, if not your talibani men.
About war much has been written. More must yet be said by those who saw them die, so that the dead may rest, and sight be gained, to see war for what it was, and is: War is not fighting, though fighting's what we see, nor is it death, for death is but it's end. It is the rancor of disunited hearts, the death of love, the end of hope. The war around us echoes in our hearts, and grants it life. Once, mortals dared to tame this ancient beast, and yet it thrives. Each age must fight this force aga

In the Hadith recorded in Mishkat al-Masabith, the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "He who calls for `Asabiyyah is as if he bit his father's genitals" You need to do a lot of repenting. I don't think there is a difference between your mouth hole versus your butt hole, seems like crap is comming out of both holes. If you don't like what you see in the mirror, don't break the mirror, break your face.
