Anthony Coniglio is playing this beautiful Chopin "Minute Waltz" - Waltz in D-flat Major, Op. 64, No. 1 at only 12 years old. This was a video of the practice day prior to his first competition at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Florida's division State Piano Competition that was held in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Anthony placed 2nd in this competition and became the Alternate to go to Birmingham, Alabama in the Regional MTNA Competition in January 2010. Just four months later, he won 3rd Prize in the Pompano Beach Piano Competition held in Pompano Beach, Florida, in February 2010. He currently studies with renowned American pianist, Phillip Evans, who is a former faculty member of both the Juilliard and Manhattan Schools of Music and currently teaching at Lynn University's Conservatory of Music. Anthony was also a student at Lynn University's Preparatory School of Music in Boca Raton, Florida, under Roberta Rust. He began his studies at the conservatory with Spanish pianist José Menor and then with Student Teacher Molin Wang. He also studies music theory with Thomas McKinley.
