i'd like to believe this... but i havn't been able to find videos, commercials for it, and only the same pictures, i would think that if it were real, they'd do a hell of a lot of advertising for it, even if its not released yet :) if they ever do make a car like this though, i definately want one... however i'd rather have the joystick in front of me, rather than at the side, i think that'd be awkward :)

This was a concept car originally brought out in 1996,
the only change from the original concept is that the interior has been updated. Unfortunately "fly-by-wire" is not legal in most countries so joystick controls are not going to be around for a while yet. If they ever DO releasxe it, though - I want one!!

I am not sure this concept will work. We are all used to a certain "feel of the road". I think we will lose "feel" with the road with this concept, which will cause most drivers to be uncomfortable, if not dangerous with this kind of driving. If it was moved to the center of your sitting posistion, the "FEEL" would still be missing but that could help make the transistion to a joystick type control. Wait a few more years and your computer will drive "Computer, Engage Auto Drive!"
