  • I have always loved to the words of Father Jim. I have never left without being uplifted after listening to his words. My four children are so blessed to be at Queen of Apostles with Father Jim physically walking the grounds.

I surely miss him and hope his encouraging talks may be available to more people.

  • I was a student of brother Mifsud at St. Louis High School in Honolulu in the 60s.

No student could ever forget this fortunate experience. With sadness...

  • Fr. Jim loved the outcasts of our society. He helped those in prison, those battling addiction, those who were divorced. If the Church were half as welcoming as Fr. Jim, it would be a far better institution. He tried to light a fire in people to live the gospel not just mouth the words. I left Q of A shortly after Fr. Jim stepped down and they had the nerve to blame him for financial difficulties. Jim is free of the body that betrayed him; one of God's most faithful servants is truly at home.

  • I loved this man. He was the most wonderful priest I have ever known. I am grateful to have known him and I am most thankful that both of my daughters were able to learn from him. Father Jim, you will be missed. They just do not make men like this anymore. Rest in peace

  • I learned several hours ago that Father Jim's struggle with Parkinson's ended today. He was a friend, an inspiration, and a source of strength. Those who were fortunate enough to be present at Queen of Apostles for his homilies will remember how he encouraged us to think of ourselves: "A good person, trying to be a better one." God Bless You, Father Jim. Your legacy will last forever.

  • Fr. Jim passed away today 9.29/10. May God bless his soul. Fr. Jim was an extreme source of hope for so many. Those of us who had the opportunity to know him or hear one of his homily's ....we are blessed. Rest in Peace Father Jim.

    We will never give up~!!!

  • Thank God for good men like Father Jim. He gives us all courage. Blessings for him, the person that posted and everyone who watches these homilies. Blessings to all. Prayers to all who feel alone God observes your struggle.

  • God Bless America and God Bless you!!!
