The first five minutes of this educational documentary film about the Preamble of the US Constitution and the lives of ordinary Americans who reflect the qualities found in it. The film is divided into six half-hour segments: A More Perfect Union, Establish Justice, Domestic Tranquility, Common Defense, General Welfare, and The Blessings of Liberty.
This is a great video on one of the most important founding fathers. Gouverneur Morris deserves the respect and gratitude of the American people. Unfortunately, the New York aristocrat has been largely forgotten by historians.
There is a small error in the video at 3:50. Although Gouverneur Morris championed for religious rights, he was not Catholic. The narrator took the line from page 218 of Brookhiser's biography (where he wrote about Talleyrand, not Morris).. Great video, nonetheless.
