  • is this the combo or the head?

  • @nedab90

Okay, thanx man. It's so damn hard to find the right mic placement. Usually it ends up sounding scrambly or too boomy.. I guess there's no real method for the madness. You'll just have to experiment.

  • @yrrahyrrah Alright man, for all of my recorded stuff, I used a tascam us 144 interface and a shure sm57, just running into my laptop, I was running the lead channel with the gain at about 3 1/2 for rhythm tracks and about 4 for lead stuff, the volume was on about 2 (although louder might be more desireable) I run my mids at about 5, bass 6 and treble at about 5? then its a matter of messing about with it for mic placement, I tend to have my just to the left of the cone of the speaker if i think

Cool. Really like the last lick, so great job! I recently bought the Bugera 6262 amp with a Laney 4x12 speaker. I would like to record some demo stuff, but can't seem to figure the settings with the EQ's and mic placements. Do you have any tips?

  • @yrrahyrrah The amps not actually mic'd in this video, it was just recorded with a nokia n95 phone camera aha all of the material played here is original, you can check out my band 'solace in bermuda' on my page, ive got a few songs up if you like what you hear:)

  • Great demonstration! How did you mic up the amp? And what's the last "song" you're playing in the video?
