Episode 14
Justin suddenly became aware that he still hand his arms around her and pulled away, feeling awkward. Seeing that she was shivering, he pulled off his leather jacket and draped it round her shoulders, feeling the cold rain sink through his thin shirt while Selena stared at him, her eyes wide with mixed emotions. Breaking the silence, Justin spoke softly, repeating what he said moments before.
"Come on, let's go home." He turned and started walking while she followed him silently, wondering if everything that happened was actually reality, or just one of her crazy dreams.
Moments later, they approached the house where Pattie flung open the door before Justin could knock, and pulled them both inside.
"Oh my goodness!" she exclaimed, noticing their wet clothes. "Go and get changed, both of you! You'll catch a cold if you don't!" She ushered them through the hallway and pushed them upstairs. Justin walked into his room, pulling open his closet and taking out a dry shirt. Selena stood outside the room, biting her lip and debating whether to go in or not. Before she could decide, Justin had already come out and stared at her.
"Are you okay?" he asked, and she nodded, too afraid to say anything else. He started to walk off.
"Justin, wait!" Selena turned round to face him, not looking into his eyes.
"What?" She took a deep breath.
"Thank you...for saving me earlier."
"Oh, that was nothing," shrugged Justin, embarrassed. He was still contemplating the strange feelings he had felt for those moments where they were standing in the rain.
"No, it was," said Selena. "I would've gotten hurt if you hadn't done that, so thank you."
"You're welcome," mumbled Justin before walking off. Selena stared after him, did he still hate her? Or was something different? She shook her head, once a jerk, always a jerk. Just because he saved her didn't mean that he liked her. So why did it feel that way?
Justin came back and saw her still standing there, staring into space.
"Selena, what are you doing?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. "Don't you wanna get changed, you'll catch a cold."
"What? Oh, right," said Selena. She walked off into the room she shared with Justin and heard him walking downstairs.
Meanwhile, Pattie was feeling guilty about the way she scolded her son. She saw him coming down the stairs.
"Justin! Sweetie, please listen to me. I'm sorry I was so hard on you earlier."
"It's okay," he shrugged. Didn't he care about anything?
"I was just worried about Selena, but I was wrong to be angry with you," Pattie tried to explain herself further.
"Seriously mom, it's okay," repeated Justin, sitting down on the couch and drying his wet hair with a towel. Pattie came to sit next to him.
"Good," she smiled. "Now that's out of the way, I was thinking..."
"Mom," interrupted Justin. "Can I stop you right there? Because whenever you start a sentence like that, I know it's not gonna be good."
"Just hear me out," insisted Pattie. "I was wondering if you and Selena would like to go out somewhere together, like, to get to know each other."
"What, like on a date?" spluttered Justin, feeling almost as if his mom had read his mind, understood how he felt.
"No, not like that," said Pattie. "Just as friends. Do you think you could do that?"
"Can't I do it later?" groaned Justin. Later had such a happy way of turning into never.
"Just take her somewhere, like the movies, the beach, the mall, anywhere," suggested Pattie.
"How about..." said Justin. "I take her back to Costa whatever-it's-called." Pattie's eyes darkened.
"Honestly Justin, I thought you were over this already!" exclaimed Pattie.
"Anyway, I can't. I'm busy," said Justin.
"No you're not," replied Pattie. "I really think you guys should get to know each other."
"Fine," sighed Justin.
omfg sorry this one was kinda boring...but it's gonna get better for sure :) i've already written a lot of it and it gets so much more romantic ;) so yeah. you guys know the drill; comment please and tell me what you thought ;) more than one word would be appreciated haha ;) what do you think is gonna happen next? and which series do you want me to post next?
so i was wondering about doing a collab contest? not sure...i might not, so if you're suddenly all excited (not that you would be xD) then please don't get your hopes up. lmfao idk if anyone would enter though; i can just imagine posting a video and then no one entering. embarrassing much? lmao ;)
okay well that's it i guess ;) love you guys so much.
