@watersuckingmartian I got my first one using brown sugar going on right now, should be done in February. You don't need to move it to a secondary, the fermentation with the wine yeast is really lite. Just leave it in the primary for at least 6 months...8 is better, the apple flavor comes out more.
Thanks. Well done. I'm going to make my first batch this afternoon. Have read that it's good with brown sugar so I'm going to try that. Do you think it's OK to leave it in a plastic bucket (sanitized, air lock the whole bit) for the entire time or should I transfer it to my glass carboy after a month or so? Carboy is being used right now or I would use it from the get go. Thanks again.
