bring back old memories of the 80s & 90s and me at one time in my school years and make me sing 'Mile sure mera tumhara toh sur baney hamara' in 14 languages :).
The lyrics in each language roughly mean 'when your tune unites with my tune, it becomes our tune' in other words: 'you and me together, becomes us united' .
It is one of Doordarshans famous short film focusing on India national integration and unity. It was beamed for the first time on Independence Day 1988, after the telecast of Rajiv Ghandi's speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
Bhimsen Joshi, Balamurali Krishna & Lata's rendition of 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara' became an unofficial national anthem, capturing hearts of millions of Indians! (The song ends by fading into the final notes of the Indian National Anthem)
