Rawalakot, the district headquarter, is situated in the heart of
Azad KAshmir. The altitude of this beautiful saucer-shaped valley is 1615
meters.
Situated at a distance of 76 kilometers from Kohalla, it is also linked with
Rawalpindi/Islamabad via Azad Pattan and Dhalkot and with Muzaffarabad
via Kohalla by black top roads.
The construction of Guoien Nullah road between Rawalakot and Azad
pattan has considerably reduced the distance and journey time. During
summer the place becomes full of green grass and beautiful flowers
including many varieties of roses.
The town has few good bazaars where all essential commodities of life are
easily available. In Rawalakot, besides Dahra rest house , some good hotels
and private guest houses provide comfortable accommodation.

Beautiful as described by my late grandfather, he belonged to chotta gallla near Rawlakote. he wished to visit his birth place before his death but unfortunately he could not. And yes we people are Potoharis (closely related to punjabis but separate identity) we do not belong to kashmiri ethinicity.

Then how come Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said he has relatives in the Pakistani side of Kashmir. I have friends from Rawalokot and Bagh who speak Kashmiri not Pothohari, are you telling me they are not ethnically Kashmiri either?

I agree with imkan125. Ethnically we are neither Kashmiri neither Jummwi.We are ethnically Pothohari more close to Punjabi in culture. Language, culture.. We have nothing common with Kashmiri. This is unfortunate but its true.
However Rawalakot is a beautiful place...no doubt but extremely backward thanks to our ruling class in Pakistan and its puppet in Azad Kashmir
