  • (1) Please sit down every day with a tuner and find where the notes resonate on your horn. Pull the slides so that when things resonate most, they're in tune.

    (2) Music happens between the notes. The phrasing left me feeling that there was note note note, not a line with musical direction.

    (3) Buy the breathing gym. Use it daily.

    (4) Keep working- you WILL get there!

  • Get where? Where do you assume I'm trying to go with the tuba?

I've been a professional musician and filmmaker for quite some time now, and record these videos for fun, and for the enjoyment of YouTube viewers.

I do not intend to play tuba professionally. FYI.

    Have a great day.

  • First comment.. Are you getting back into making music videos on youtube again? I hope so. awesome, I have been waiting a while for you to. Just in time almost to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

  • Jesus was most likely born in the fall, and there isn't anyplace in the Bible where God's people celebrate birthdays.

  • And I thank you for the kind comments. :)

  • Dynamics? lol.

  • @tubadylan A professional musician and you can't take a critique on your breathing? You have shallows breaths and breath in the middle of phrasing.. where the phrasing lacks anyway. Love the sound, just work on your breathing..

  • y is there lightning?

  • @tubadylan wow that shows how much you appreciate people. i unsub now.

  • Mate, you need to ground yourself before playing the tuba. You're getting a bit of ESD off that thing.

  • the most electrifying tuba

  • @codylykins The tuba is in the contrabass range already but it is just called the tuba so theres no point in saying contrabass but there are subcontrabass tubas

  • I've noticed that a lot of people are saying that he played a peddle Eb, whereas if I'm not mistaken, the peddle notes on the CC start at the peddle C, which is after the so called peddle Eb. The Eb he's playing in this piece isn't a peddle note, as it is in the instruments natural range. Peddle notes are notes played below the instruments natural range. CC tuba: C, B, Bb, A, Ab, and so on.

I would highly recommend the PT-88, (or in my case, the PT-88+), mainly because the Perantucci mouthpieces are very, very wonderful mouthpieces. I own the PT-88+, and love it to death.

  • @codylykins

The tubas are as follows: Bass = F & Eb (b = flat). Contrabass = CC & BBb (b = flat). What your thinking of are subcontrabass tubas, (ex. FFF, EEEb, CCC, BBBb (b = flat)) which have three letters for their key as shown in my ex. in brackets, and they are practically extinct, (except for the ones that are in museums, which there are few (there was only like 5 of these tubas made) of) as of the fact that they aren't made.
