Turned 19 this year, voting for the first time and trying to get all my friends to do the same!

And people, don't just vote blindly, get yourselves informed as to what each party stands for and who is acting in your best interests!

Rick Mercer makes me proud to be a Canadian. I'm an immigrant and very happy with my choice.

Add a none of the above option. Then I'll vote.

Stephen Harper is creating a Canada that, basically, marginalizes people who wouldn't otherwise need to BUY his brand of "legitimate" success. He's against any form of skill/talent that isn't utilized to help him in some way.

Just wait, the only options for people not willing/able to fork out the cash to buy some sort of credential will be, either, to either risk their freedom ("crime") or to risk their life (military service). Just like in the USA.

@WhiteCanada1 These changes aren't things that will tangibly solve any of Canada's MANY economic problems, they're aimed solely at controlling how people perceive them. The conservative answer to everything is "Don't worry, be happy".

Actually, the Conservatives are making a lot of changes... Non-Conservative changes... idk why Harper still calls himself Conservative lol, it's ridiculous. Some of the changes he makes are out of proportion too, like developing more outsourcing.

If you can vote online there would be a higher voter turnout

Conservatism is the "do nothing" option... it isn't something you do when you are in economic distress. Does doing nothing help you with your personal debt? Not a chance! When Harper talks about "stabilizing" the economy he's talking about keeping it as it CURRENTLY is. So long as the conservatives are in control we will NEVER see the end of our "economic recovery".

Those who don't vote should be counted. Politicians should have to get a majority of all ELIGIBLE voters, not just those who show up to the polling station.

I remember turning 18 and having my first opportunity to vote! Also having a difficult time understanding why many of the folks around me were not interested in voting. Somethings don't change, but nothing will change if we don't participate!!

For interest sake: There have only be a handful PMs with a popular vote of over 50% and each of them were only able to do it once. Typically these guys are on our money. They include Laurier, Bordon, Diefenbaker, King, and Mulroney (ok not all of them are on our money)

39.% popular vote is one of the lower majorities - although Chretien was lower in 1997 (back when the conservative party won only 2 seats).

    Fun facts, eh?
