  • It's not the size of the site that matters, it's how you use it :)

  • This says it all.

    Content is nothing without backlinks.

So write good and promote even better.

  • Panda Update in 2011 pretty much kills this off. A million pages won't help unless the content is far from thin and unique on each page

  • I agree, the size of the site should not matter or else anyone could come up with loads of crap content and waste people's time.

  • Giday Great information... Have a question..."what is the best size format to build a site to??? Is it 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 800... what is the preferred size out there...

Better still what size would you use??

Any info is welcome, thank you.

  • I've seen minisites with about 10-20 pages rank very highly for the search term I used. The pages were well thought out and very useful to me and I wouldnt be surprised if other sites linked to this mini site.

If that same site had a million pages of auto generated crap I would be less likely to find it useful and trust the information there.

  • The recipe that I find most effective is:

    1) W3C Validated Code.

    2) Update Your Website Regularly (More often than you see Google updating your index.)

    3) Anchor Text internally and externally that is relevant to your pages.

    4) Title & H1 tags relevant to page.

    5) Keywords & Description meta tags relevant to page.

    6) Directories, image alts, and file names associated with your keywords.

    7) Anchor Text, Bullet Lists, Bold/Italicized/Underlined Text help Spiders know what is important.

  • Just as allforque pointed out below. "That by itself probably won't help that much" referring to simply making more pages. This makes sense - that would be too easy.

If, however, you have many pages and you are updating those pages regularly and aren't doing anything negligent to Google's terms then it could be assumed that Google likes this. It shows a commitment to your web site which to me partially translates into quality content if there are lots of backlinks to it as well.

  • Hey man...

So what you are saying is content updates making larger sites along with more backlinks?
