If you've watched any of my Tech Shakedown videos here on ZDNet, you'd know that I've been asking viewers to let me know if they know of a breakdown that needs to be the subject of a Tech Shakedown. In cases where suggestions like these come from ZDNet's audience members (and I have been getting them, thank you!), I do have to check them out. Well, this one definitely checked out.
A couple of weeks ago, Andrés, an engineer that reads ZDNet wrote the following to me via e-mail: Lately HP brought on the market a series of pavilion notebooks that where on high demand because of their all in one features. But it seems that there's been a cover-up on the reliability of their performance. A lot of costumers who bought their notebooks are currently experiencing the same problem two major problems with their systems.
How does Andres know about these other customers? Well, since June 2007, they've been flooding HP's Web site with complaints about how their Pavilion notebook computers are randomly losing any sense of the fact that they have wireless adapters in them (which in turn causes a loss of productivity). The thread is so flooded with messages that the only way I can get Web browser to view the entire thing without seizing is to close most of my other applications.

hello greetings, buy HP Pavilion g4, pre-installed Windows 7 Starter, which is too simple, and look for a cereal and I could upgrade to ultimate, one day I found a system called windows8 download and install it, but it is in English, which do not quite understand and are not registered and I can not install the updates, so I can not switch to Spanish and try to restore the factory system, but disappeared recovery Manager, please re-install and recovery Manager?

Same crap for me with the wifi, I called them and demanded a refund or a new wifi card. I got a card in the mail in two days. The cooling fan died in no time flat and now it whines, sputters, is very noisy ( for years now :) I guess if I want to use it was a back up computer I need to get a new fan. HP can go fuck themselves, assholes. My Alienware has never failed, ever.

Not that this relates but I heard of a guy in the company that was trying to get sexual favors from one of his subordinate female employees. Maybe that's what was keeping the company busy.

This sucks! I had gotten the black screen twice in the past, while the computer was on. Now, I got a new motherboard (got it repaired through geek squad). The computer finally ran, booted, and took me to my desktop. But 10 minutes later, it shut down on me giving me a blue screen. Same blinking of caps & numb locks, except now the blinking is at 4, pause, then 4 again. Before, it was continuously just blinking. I'm so upset because my dad got me this to replace my toshiba laptop which also fried

When they refuse to fix the problem caused to million onsumers, because of their faulty material, they can keep the money they took from us, and kiss them goodbuy.
Thanks God, competition offer much better products, and respect customers.

@lance3104 Hard drive isn't even made by HP, if you swapped out the hard drive for a different one and it had the same problem, then you can blame the motherboard or whatever else is causing it. Probably bumping it around too much.
