Infant respiratory distress syndrome (IRDS) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulmonary_surfactant

Pulmonary surfactant is a surface-active lipoprotein complex (phospholipoprotein) formed by type II alveolar cells. The proteins and lipids that surfactant comprises have both a hydrophilic region and a hydrophobic region. By adsorbing to the air-water interface of alveoli with the hydrophilic headgroups in the water and the hydrophobic tails facing towards the air, the main lipid component of surfactant, dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC), reduces surface tension. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulmonary_surfactant

Galatians 4:19 "My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you...."

Does the mother's body or the unborn baby's body trigger the birth process? Those who advise that the baby will come when it's ready may be correct.

Researchers studying mice have found that a protein called SP-A, which coats the inside of a newborn's lungs, begins to rise in concentration in the amniotic fluid shortly before birth. Normally, the protein is used by the newborn to fend off lung infections. SP-A causes the release of the unborn child's immune cells, called macrophages. These macrophages leave the amniotic fluid and go to the uterus. Once there, they produce inflammation that eventually causes the cervix to open and contractions to begin. It seems that this entire sequence of events that leads to a successful birth is controlled by the unborn infant's own body. If the researchers' findings with mice also apply to humans, many premature births might be prevented by manipulating levels of SP-A in the mother's amniotic fluid.

Every step of this system must be in place and work if there is to be a next generation. This fact in itself argues against this carefully tuned system having evolved through trial and error. Rather, it is the gift of our loving God, Who also gave us the new birth into His kingdom by calling us through the Gospel of the forgiveness of sins in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for my birth into this world, and I thank You for my new birth into Your kingdom. Amen. Notes:

  • Creationists trying to use science to back up arguments. Instantly refute it when opposing side uses science.

  • @neon I do know "you" and "your kind" as much as that may disturb you. You are all easily bunched into one nauseating group: the dishonest. You have to be dishonest in order to be a christian - that's what "faith" is all about. You have to be willing to not just lie to others, you must be willing to lie to yourself. You have to be willing to CONVINCE yourself despite ALL common sense that you KNOW god/jesus exist. You DON'T (nor COULD you) KNOW these things and that makes you ALL dishonest.

  • @YourBrainOnReligion Please don't pretend that you "know" me and "my kind" because you don't until you've been where I've been and been a Christian planted in a godly church. I've never felt like it's been a competition, simply that wherever you are looking and thinking is where you are going to end up going towards. And you don't know what I've seen, but doubt all you want. If it makes you feel like more of a person you can have the last word and comment back.

  • @neonxblood Oh, yes you absolutely do. Just because "science and reason can't explain everything" - that is not a logically valid reason to assume there must be a magical guy in the sky. Where does your mind go off the paved road of reason and into the mindfield of insanity on this thought? Why do you guys think it's like a "competition" almost? Facts are not established through vote—it just doesn't work that way.

I assure you haven't seen miracles which broke the laws of physics.

  • @YourBrainOnReligion I don't have a persecution complex, haha, thanks though. And there does come a point where reason and science doesn't explain everything and it never ever will. There is too much in the whole universe and too much that is just too perfect for there to not be a higher being. I have seen miracles happen that I can't confuse with anything other than God. I am not screaming at you to convert, I respect your opinion and your facts. We will see what happens in the end.

  • @neonxblood No, the fact that it doesn't make any sense only proves that it doesn't make any sense. Attributing a mystical higher level of understanding to a mystical figure you can't even prove exists is called a bandaid for your mind so you can comfortably swallow fallacious and irrational propaganda. I know - telling you these things only feeds your persecution complex - I get it. This is precisely why christianity is a literal mental virus. You're proudly infected and it's saddens me.

  • @YourBrainOnReligion Yes. His love is infinite, His grace is infinite, His mind is infinite. Just the fact that this doesn't make sense to you only proves my point that He is beyond our understanding. You arguing only makes me believe what I believe more concretely. And thanks for basically calling me stupid when I was only creating a discussion.

  • @neonxblood So you're claiming god's mind is INFINITE? That doesn't even make any sense. Keep retarding your mind with that 2,000 year old book - it's clearly done your intellect wonders.

  • @YourBrainOnReligion because God is beyond anything that our human minds can even begin to comprehend. Do you really think that God, the Supreme Being, would make it so the definition of Him and who He is can be written down, studied, and/or limited to our finite minds? Ya dig?

  • How did this discussion become a debate on religion?

I don't need religion, philosophy, or ideology to tell me that this is a human being.
