Great flute-solo! But the band played not well. You were playing so beautiful, but the band ruined a lot.
-
@IcedHots The angle of the flute has nothing to do with tone production or even intonation. You're in a marching band, you're supposed to look like statues...

Very pretty.

@loveliyuchun I totally agree!!!!!! :P

@mormika well name a few wrong possitions that you can think of ok? Cause from what I've been through a straight produces the best sound the only exception is her because her head is following the flute's angle.

A CHINESE, A CHINESE, A CHINESE!!!!!!
I love the chinese!!!
(Because I'm chinese... =D)

I know exactly what you mean. I just finished my rookie year of marching band and her flute angle bothers me so much. And even if it is a wind ensemble, you should still have reasonable posture. My band director gets angry if any flutes in my section aren't parallel to the ground.
-
I think she has a brilliant tone but phrases poorly and the accompaniment was average, at best.
Very nice. What a pretty solo! Great job, miss! :)
Really quick about the comments on posture. I've been in Marching Band for a few years and am now a drum major - I'm also the first chair flute in my top band! While I marched, my flute was always parallel to the ground, but I can't say the same for when I was in a wind ensemble or orchestra setting. I love the fellow marchers standing up for the flute angle, but her flute position is perfectly fine and is not hindering her sound. :)
