@Mw2ActionChannel even if it missed there still would be a 65 percent chance that the msin rotor would have been hit causing Alot more damage, techniclly they were well 50% lucky 50 % not

if the RPG hit the rotor it would probably ignight the engine causing a massive explosion

In BHD (book), Durant's "In the Company of Heroes," "The Night Stalkers," and "The Battle of Mogadishu," I get the feeling that even the 160th were caught off by the tail rotor failures. That's a bit surprising, given that they are the best helicopter pilots in the world. In Durant's account, he and Ray Frank did not pull the PCLs (Power Control Levers) offline quickly enough, resulting in a bad spin. I'll bet money that after the BHD incident that they practice tail rotor failure constantly.

Lots of comments here about how fast the Hawk went down.....people dont forget its a MOVIE they have 2 make everything more dramatic....else you wont like it ofcourse.

@MedievalGaming because, the film portrays it differently from the actual event for cinematography reasons, but the helicopter actually impacted in a narrow ally way, and it was the nose of the aircraft that hit first, thus the pilots were crushed into the cockpit. And the force of such an impact if the aircraft doesn't land lever it will most likely kill the pilots
