@LordBlazer27 Hmm... I'm running 2.56, if I get a chance later today, I'll try updating and seeing if that is where the issue is coming from. As far as the texture, as long as you've UV mapped it to the sphere, if you change the the view (the button with the circle in it next to the mode button) from solid to textured, you should see the texture in the 3D view. In the example I did map and apply the texture before I applied the smoke particle system to it, not sure if that matters.
Both, i just installed 2.57 so I'm not sure how much that changes things since the button layout is slightly different, not much though, do you how you got your Earth texture skin to appear in the 3D view in the first place?
@LordBlazer27 Is it not showing up only in the 3D view or in the final render also? Not sure exactly what might be going on there, but you might want to try going into the physics tab of the smoke emitter and going down to the smoke cache and freeing all the bakes, then clicking on bake again (also be sure to set the start and end frame you want). That might fix the issue, if not, let me know, and I'll see if I can't figure out what is going on.

Hey, how did you get the planet and smoke to render in the 3D view, my sphere just stays solid and my particles don't render....at all...
