Hello Saf, please answer me, and stop ignoring. Shall I buy this one, or the D5200? I haven't used any DSLR before, so what do you think?

Hey sorry I may have missed some of your comments. The D5200 is definitely better in many ways but also more expensive. I would say if you have the money get the D5200, and if you are on a budget go for the D3200. All the best,

Why not get the D3200 (just body) and spend the money you would pay additionally for the D5200 and the 18-55mm kit lens on something like the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 16-85mm 1:3,5-5,6G ED VR?

The kit-lens does not give you the chance to use the D3200/D5200's full potential.

    D3200+16-85mm > D5200+18-55mm

    but that's just me.

does this camera switch between monitor and viewfinder when looking into the viewfinder (blocking the light to the viewfinder) ?

Thats a bit of bad advice isn't it if the guy or gall has never used a DSLR before they are probably better buying a D3100 and save money, they wouldn't need the 24.4 mega pixel capabilities of the newer 3200 unless they are using it for video and need an external mic input and better video features. this poor person probably spent their savings on a camera that is way more than they need for way more money than they need to spend. Its only my opinion but its not what I would have suggested
