I was invited to play a few short bits in a trade-off solo section from a song on my friend's band's latest release. This is not from the final mix of the song, but these are the takes that will be used on the album. The 3rd one will not be used at all, but I thought this would be a good way of documenting its existence. I had fun with these, so I hope you enjoy!

I'm keeping everything nameless for the time being, but details on the band, the album, the people involved in making the album, a release date, links to where you can purchase the songs, etc. will be posted as they become available and as I'm given permission to release them...

Thanks for watching!

  • it's dark empire?

  • @0ivo0 Yes.

  • hey that mystery singer sounded a lot like Russell Allen? is it him??? :)

  • @Chrisleftyguitar I wish. ;)

  • Great playing dude, I started learning how to hybrid pick last week so its great to see a player use it fluently, second solo is awesome too, any tips for getting your pinky to stay straight and not curl back when your not using it?

  • @drawnacrol No, hahaha... I don't even notice that it's staying straight and not curling back, and I don't think I'm a particularly strong hybrid picker, but it is a technique that I think could be incorporated more in rock and metal, so I do what I can, with guys like Bumblefoot and Brett Garsed to keep me inspired....

  • @larkinguitar Awesome!

  • @johnaiton Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely check out the MIDI guitar, sounds like something I'd have a lot of fun with. As far as professional releases go, I need to finish my album before considering an instructional release. I don't want to be yet another one of those guitarists nobody's ever heard of who assumes people would be interested in learning their licks/songs/solos. It's on the to-do list, just not any time soon, other than maybe a few Youtube mini-lessons.

  • @lauriemonk Thanks, Laurie!

  • @thekrazykids1919 Loving NY so far, the half of the week that I'm actually there. Grew up here, I've missed it and wanted to move back for 15 years, glad it finally happened. :)

  • He is my guitar teacher! How is it in new york?
