The man in front of him clearly indicates to hold position the entire time, yet he keeps trying to get away from his stop, while the fuel is still being fed into the car.

No wonder he couldn't even last a whole year in F1.

@KOSTAS22R michael andretti is a class act. time lost in the pits is hard to make up on track. all drivers are anxious to get out of the box once they're back on the ground. if he was trying to "get away" he would have just drove off, he was simply trying to get into a better position for when he left the stall. to say that he's a tool is just not accurate. he was a kind, disciplined, successful race car driver. one that EVERYONE in the sport respects. and i am not a fan of his at all.

If memory serves his clutch was hot and it was slipping. Wasn't really his fault. The car should have stayed on the jackstands a bit longer. The fueler got lucky, this was LITERALLY the first race in (then) Indycar where pit crews were mandated to wear helmets in the pits. His head could have been crushed like a grape ... Also, the buckeye was moved the year after this incident, instead of straight down it went in sideways the year after.
