Highlights of Chris Andersen's performances in the 2004 & 2005.
In 2004 he would face off against Ricky Davis, Fred Jones & 2-time defending champion Jason Richardson. Andersen, or "Anderson" as it was spelled on the back on his jersey, would have quite a successful first round, but would fail to advance to the finals and was eliminated by a margin of 4 points. His first round elimination was mainly due to controversial judging, as noted by the TNT commentators. Andersen's first dunk was much more difficult than Fred Jones' which immediately followed... Chris received a score of 42, and Fred Jones received a 50. Jones would then advance to the finals with a score of 92, while Andersen would be eliminated with a total of 88.
The following year Andersen, now better known around the league as "The Birdman", would once again be invited to the Slam Dunk Contest at the NBA's All-Star Weekend. Andersen's performance, although less successful than his previous year, would be forever talked about. The Birdman took numerous attempts to complete each of his first round dunks, all while being ridiculed by TNT commentators, fans & his peers. Andersen would finish the first round with a total of 77, while each of the other participants (JR Smith, Josh Smith & Amare Stoudemire) would finish with scores of 90 or better.

He jumped just after the free throw line, AND THREW THE BALL FROM HALF COURT! regarless of how many takes he made, what like 9 or something? amazing dunk!!! better than anyone and took it to a new level

interesting seeing LeBron laughing at others. Isn't he the one who claimed he would elevate the slam dunk contest to a new level? Yeah, right, and then didn't even perform ... same lame shit like in the Finals 2011.

This dude is great, I like him but he should had laid down the pipe much earlier, not just 2 minutes before the contest began.
