More at http://www.theuptake.org. Delyla Wilson tours the country with her family in the "PermiBus," a mobile permaculture demonstration. The group is in the Twin Cities to teach people about sustainable living practices.
On the evening of Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 the bus was pulled over in what police eventually described as a routine traffic stop. After detaining the bus occupants, the police decided the bus was a commercial vehicle and impounded it for inspection, leaving the family and their guests stranded and homeless.
The police allowed the Wilsons to remove their dogs and chickens, but were not allowed to retrieve their computers or any other belongings, including their daughter's shoes.
This incident ended a day that saw multiple pre-RNC raids, which some legal observers believe is a coordinated pre-emptive effort by local and national law enforcement agencies to chill RNC protest action. This is so sad to even watch again. What lessons does this goon Nazi activity teach todays young people. No wonder there is so much hate for the government. Listening once again to the young woman say she was placed in cuffs and detained makes me sick. I hope the end of this story was a lawsuit. The real kicker is that this crap goes on every day to people. Illegal traffic stops, detainments and threats of searches without probable cause.
Walk up America before it really too late.

@cbarsonfire I am also a veteran. It pisses me off to see the Constitution we defended being ripped away from us. Thank you for your service.

Cops work for the crown corporation. They are ilegitimate. Learn that its about commerce. You are travelors, not drivers. You should be able to win in court, and sue in a civil court as well.

What a joke that the cops take these peoples home. They have a right to protest. No wonder people hate the establishment. The govt should be ashamed. This makes me sad as a freedom loving veteran.

Anyhow, this agitates up some real issues here. This is cause for outrage and hopefully people see and become outraged enough.

Bush started the Patriot Act and Barack is doing a wonderful job of continuing it...Barack say "Yes we Can" feel up and grope your children in airports.

@papasimian After the "Patriot" act they can do whatever they want.Welcome to the police state folks. All they have to do is say you are a terrorist and they don't have to tell you anything, charge you with anything, take whatever they want, put you in a cell and forget about you.
Those "rights" were given up by a fearful populace for the illusion of safety.
