This collection of pictures and video clips from the City of Toronto Archives was shown at the inaugural session of Toronto Civics 101: http://www.toronto.ca/civic-engagement/civics101/index.htm - a special civic engagement learning series.
Take a trip through time with the earliest photos of Toronto from the 1850s, see footage of the Great Fire of 1904, and watch Toronto grow through the 1960s as City Hall and the CN Tower are built.

Really the best history photo/video collection of Toronto that I've ever seen. Always wanted to know more about the "Great Fire" - thank you for the video.

Wow, awsome video, the picture of the teacher and the children with their hands at their faces (3:05) I know very well. The kids are blowing their noses, and its at the Enoch Turner school house on Trinity Ave. behind Trinity church. I deliver there all the time and they have that very picture on the wall. Incredible pictures, words cannot describe.
