  • however...it's still a kick-ass album(Era Vulgaris). It's actually my 2nd favorite of all their albums... Misfit Love is their best song in my opinion

  • wow what a song. can't wait to see these guys.

  • It's not just his singing, Josh, Dave and Alain have been jamming for years before this project, and all featured in QOTSA ..

  • Grohl sat a few rows in front of me at the AC/DC concert in Anaheim a few weeks ago...he was singing along, head banging, and raising his fists like the true rock fan that he is. Seemed like a totally regular guy.

  • josh better as a singer than guitars? are u kidding me? i prefer his playing over him on vocals anytime!

the instrumentals sound so much better without the vocals. i love the riffs and all, but the vocals just sound too era vulgaris for me, which also happen to be my least favourite qotsa album.

  • Man this bannd sounds fucking sweet! Can't wait for the album.

Although I hope Dave sings a song or two.

  • Gotta remember that they all help write the music. Josh might be a better guitarist but he's also playing some Dave material.

  • Really? Lullabies is my favourite one, but i think that's what makes QOTSA a decent band - everybody has their own beloved record. And they never recorded anything bad.

I agree about vocal-less samples - it sounds beyond QOTSA, and it's kinda obvious that homme's vocals will make it taste a bit like QOTSA. Would you guys like to see him growl? Me neither.

  • That is such a foolish statement. Why can't one be a fan of both U2 and FF/TCC/QOTSA ?

P.S. I also think that Homme is better suited as a singer for TCV.

  • I think that Homme's singing is what is giving you that impression. When I hear the instrumental samples of Elephants, Scumbag Blues and Nobody Loves Me, it doesn't sound that much as QOTSA. And even if this were QOTSA 2.0, it sounds better than Era Vulgaris and Lullabyes, which were good, but not great.
