  • read his book Kaffir Boy, u'll see why. the conditions he grew up in really were horrifying. he grew up in a shack that was barely standing, his mother had to work round the clock to afford his schooling - which he didn't start until he was seven, and which was the first time he bathed. and that's only the beginning.

  • I was inspired by his books

  • This is the only book i actually have enjoyed and cant wait to read everyday! amazing book.

  • Mathabane's book will change you inside. I read it and feel as though I can say that I now know deeply what kind of brutality was perpetrated on the indigenous people of South Africa. And the struggle continues, as long as the Powerful can exploit the vulnerable. Apartied was--and is--a disgrace to humanity.

  • A phenomenal book.

  • @hammyboobs; It is an autobiography of Mark Mathabane's life while growing up. Yes, it is true.
