  • i have this car, and it works very nice!!!!!!! but honestly is very difficult to find the pieces and mecanic parts when it needs to be fixed... but i love this car......=)

  • in the 80s!

  • @7772399 Not in the 80's it wasn't.

  • @fueledbymusic3 I paid $3k canadian, was owned by an old man who just used it for shopping, he put the first 68K on it, his mechanic bought it off of him before he passed away, and the previous owner got it from the mechanic, I thought it was a little pricey but really isn't bad considering how rare and in good shape it is, the interior is spotless, oil sprayed, nice clean car. Going to keep it original for sure.

  • @shokid WOW, how much did you pay for it? Must of been a pretty penny for one with that little miles.

  • @fueledbymusic3 Very true, I've been looking for a while and finally bought one just before winter, 82 luxury model, all power options, with only 77xxx kms.

  • that particular model and year of 626 are pretty much NON existent now! Very rare to find one as of 2011

  • @jakesaintsrow123 My dad's credit was so bad the only dealer that would sell him a car was the same place he got his 83 from. He drove home a new tornado grey 1986 Mazda 626 LX. I inherited the car in 1990. Since then, it started to progressively drink coolant and spit it thru the exhaust. A year later, it over heated as I was on the fwy. I took a big risk hoping to limp it in its hot state a half mile more to the next exit. Big mistake. Bye Bye Mazda. The car only had 160K miles. Yes my fault.

  • what did your father get after the 83 locked up?

  • @veryslyfox The EPA test has changed since. 39mpg back then is equivalent to maybe 30-32mpg on today's EPA test. Still, not much improvement.

Fuel economy was a very big deal from the late 70s, when gas prices shot up to over a buck a gallon, until the mid-80s when they dropped again. Every car with decent mileage had the EPA mpg ratings in a huge font.
