Almagro played the right shot. He was on the run and put the ball exactly when you want it. Your out there to win not to make friends. Plus the shot hit his arm and berdych acted like a pussy. When the match is over and it's all said and done you shake the guys hand like a classy player. I lost all respect for berdych and I hope almagro beats the shit out of him next time they play.

I agree fully with the commentator, hitting the ball towards your opponent is one of the ways to win a point, and most regular tennis players know that. For instance the doubles players would have to change their games entirely if they were not allowed to aim at opponents' bodies.

the like/dislike bar reminds me of the explosive gum from Mission Impossible N64 LOL. Other than that, I say that in fair play, you must use your strategies. Federer used to dislike the drop shot, calling it a cheap way out, but it's a fair tactic, and it's won him countless points. In this case, to send it in a place where Berdych could return just because hitting it to him would be a "coward's way out," would just be restricting your own freedom of fair play. He apologized on court, at that.

@Preciousjh The ball was below the level of the net, and almagro was running close to full speed forward. He hit it hard over the low part of the net, because the was the most effective direction to go. Yes, he had other options, but none that would have kept him in it as well as that one could. Lendl used to deliberately hit it at the guy because it's a tough shot to handle. If you can't take a ball being hit at you, get off the damn court. He didn't hit him in spite.

Obviously the court is big. But the thing is when you're in the position Almagro was in and he was trying to scramble to retrieve the ball, you really just hit the ball in the general direction of what would be "in bounds" in the court and hope it doesn't end up in the net, you win the point, or at least that you hit the ball in a manner that would still give you a slight chance of winning the point or give you time to at least get ready again. For Berdych to say stuff like that was stupid.
